Contact Lens-Related Fees

Contact Lens Exam Services

Contact lens exam service fees can apply to new or established patients currently wearing contact lenses. The fee includes additional contact lens case history and a biomicroscopic examination of the eye with and without contact lenses.

Diagnostic Contact Lens Examination

Diagnostic contact lens examination fees may apply to first-time contact lens wearers or established patients wearing contact lenses.  For current contact lens wearers, the fee is charged when the patient is prescribed a different parameter or different type of lens.  The diagnostic contact lens examination includes the following:

  • Patient’s contact lens history
  • Evaluation of diagnostic contact lenses on the eye
  • Clinical impression and diagnosis
  • Contact lens treatment plan

Contact Lens Case Management Procedures

Contact lens case management procedures at First Eye Care are provided at different levels of intensity according to the patient’s need.  All levels of contact lens care include the following service components:

  • Prescription of optical and physical characteristics of the contact lens
  • Fitting and evaluation of contact lenses
  • Medical supervision of the contact lens adaptation process

Level 1

  • Diagnostic contact lens examination
  • 30 days of contact lens-related follow-up care
  • Instructions for lens care and handling
  • Necessary contact lens prescription changes
  • $77 fee

Level 3

  • Diagnostic contact lens examination
  • 60 days of contact lens-related follow-up care
  • Instructions for lens care and handling
  • Observation and demonstration of lens insertion and removal techniques
  • Necessary contact lens prescription changes
  • $125 fee

Level 2

  • Diagnostic contact lens examination
  • 30 days of contact lens-related follow-up care.
  • Instructions for lens care and handling
  • Observation and demonstration of lens insertion and removal techniques
  • Necessary contact lens prescription changes
  • $107 fee

Level 4

  • Diagnostic contact lens examination
  • 90 days of contact lens-related follow-up care
  • Instructions for lens care and handling
  • Observation and demonstration of lens insertion and removal techniques
  • Necessary contact lens prescription changes
  • $300 fee
